Peer Review Process
The International Journal of Community Pharmacy (IJCP) follows a rigorous peer-review process to maintain the highest research standards in community pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences.
Initial Manuscript Screening
- The editorial team checks submissions for scope, formatting, ethical compliance, and plagiarism.
- Manuscripts that do not meet journal standards are returned to authors.
Peer Review Assignment
- All manuscripts undergo a [Single-Blind / Double-Blind] Peer Review process, ensuring fair and unbiased evaluation.
- Each submission is assigned to two independent experts with subject expertise.
- Reviewers assess the manuscript for originality, scientific validity, methodology, and relevance.
Editorial Decision & Author Revisions
- Based on reviewer feedback, the editor may decide:
- ✅ Accept (with minor or no revisions)
- 🔄 Revise & Resubmit (major/minor changes required)
- ❌ Reject (if the manuscript does not meet scientific or ethical standards)
- Authors are required to submit revised manuscripts within 15 days for reconsideration.
Final Acceptance & Publication
- Revised papers undergo a final editorial check before acceptance.
- Accepted articles are immediately published as Open Access under CC BY 4.0.
Plagiarism Prevention & Ethical Publishing
The International Journal of Community Pharmacy (IJCP) strictly follows an anti-plagiarism policy to maintain academic integrity and research ethics. All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism detection before peer review.
Plagiarism Screening Process
- All manuscripts are screened using [Plagiarism Detection Software Name].
- Manuscripts with a similarity index above [e.g., 15-20%] (excluding references & methodology) are returned for revision or rejected.
- Any attempt to fabricate, manipulate, or duplicate content will lead to immediate rejection and possible blacklisting.
Types of Plagiarism Considered Unacceptable:
❌ Direct Plagiarism – Copying text, data, or figures from another source without citation.
❌ Self-Plagiarism – Reusing one's previously published work without proper acknowledgment.
❌ Mosaic Plagiarism – Rewording another author’s work without citation.
❌ Fabrication/Falsification – Manipulating research data, results, or references.
Consequences of Plagiarism:
- If plagiarism is detected before peer review, the manuscript is returned for revision or rejected.
- If plagiarism is found after publication, the article may be retracted, and authors may be banned from future submissions.
- The journal reserves the right to notify institutions and funding agencies in cases of severe misconduct.
Authors' Responsibility:
- Ensure that their work is original and properly cited.
- Obtain permission for any reused content, images, or figures.
- Provide raw data if requested for verification.
